Waterhead look for form to continue
22nd March 2012, 11:02
WATERHEAD will be looking for the third win in as many games when they travel to North Yorkshire to face HEWORTH.
After starting with victories over Askam and Dewsbury Celtic in the opening two rounds the Oldham-based side will be full of confidence and will go into the game as firm favourites, especially with Heworth struggling for form following two defeats.
Another side looking to regain some form is CROSFIELDS and they will be looking to open their account when they entertain NORTMANTON KNIGHTS.
The Knights have played just the one game so far but that high-scoring win over local rivals Eastmoor Dragons will have served notice of their intentions for this season.
EAST LEEDS take to the field for only the second time with DEWSBURY CELTIC the visitors.
The visitors will be looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat to Waterhead and key to their fortunes could be the form of prop Liam Walmsley and half-back Niki Crabtree.
The hosts will be looking to continue where they left a fortnight ago when they overcame Featherstone Lions 30-16.
League leaders OVENDEN will be looking to keep their impressive start to the season going when they travel to EASTMOOR DRAGONS.
With Liam Walsh and Sean Smith in fine form the Halifax side will be looking for win number three of the campaign, although they won’t have it all their own way against a Dragons side that cruised past Crosfields last week.
ASKAM face a trip from their Cumbrian base to ELLAND and will be looking to bounce back from defeat in their last outing.
Despite been well-beaten by Shaw Cross Sharks the Barrow side will be confident of bringing home the points against an Elland side that has been inconsistent in their two outings so far.
Two West Yorkshire sides meet at Mill Pond when FEATHERSTONE LIONS welcome SHAW CROSS SHARKS.
After two defeats the Lions are still searching for their first points and they could face a long afternoon as a confident Sharks outfit – who are currently second in the table – arrive in town.
