NCL invites nine new clubs for 2013
29th September 2012, 20:41
The National Conference League has invited nine new clubs to enter the competition for the 2013 season following an NCL clubs meeting earlier this week where existing clubs voted in favour of them being accepted.
Coventry Bears, Peterlee Pumas, Nottingham Outlaws. Kells, Hindley, Wigan St Cuthberts, Underbank, Pilkington Recs and Barrow Island now have until Tuesday October 2 to confirm their application.
National Conference League Chairman Trevor Hunt said: “It is a great opportunity for ambitious clubs to step up into the NCL and meet the challenge for 2013 and beyond head on.
"We have considered, analysed and vetted 18 candidates in all before recommending to our clubs that they should be invited to join us for 2013. These nine are those who we consider meet the stringent criteria and who will bring a new impetus to the competition.
"The existing NCL clubs have voted overwhelmingly to offer these clubs the inopportunity to join us and we now wait to see if they accept the challenge."
Further details about next year’s structure and the process will follow after Tuesday’s deadline.
