The formal consultation process on what time of year Rugby League should be played at Community Game level will conclude on Sunday 20 June when the online survey will close.

The RFL want to hear the opinions and views of everyone involved in Rugby League and are urging anyone who hasn’t already done so to have their say on when they think the sport should be played.

David Gent, RFL Director of Participation and Strategic Partnerships said: “It’s important that we hear as many people’s opinions as possible on what time of year they think Rugby League should be played at the Community Game level.

“The online survey which everyone involved in the sport can fill in will close this Sunday June 20 and I hope that anyone who hasn’t already completed it will take the time this week to have their say.

The different options which are under discussion are for youth, junior and open age teams to play from March–November; to keep the season structure as it is at present; and to introduce a split season.

The online survey which everyone in Rugby League can access and complete by following the link on www.therfl.co.uk/thebigdebate has been set up by independent research company Vision Twentyone.

Vision Twentyone are also conducting a telephone survey across 1,100 players over the age of 16 who play at Community level as part of this process.

Anyone involved in the sport can also have their say by emailing Andy Harland, the RFL’s National Development Manager before Sunday June 20 at andy.harland@rfl.uk.com or by writing to him at Red Hall, Red Hall Lane, Leeds LS17 8NB.

Alternatively you can simply post your opinions on the wall of the RFL’s official Facebook page - www.facebook.com/rugbyfootballleague

After June 20 the RFL will review the results of the formal consultation process before making a recommendation to the Community Board at a meeting on Thursday July 1 with any decision ultimately resting with the leagues and clubs.
