Leigh East are set to write their name in the history books when they provide the opposition in North Wales Crusaders first ever game.
The Co-operative Championship 1 side will take to the field for the first time this Friday when they arrive at the Leigh Sports Village for the first of two announced pre-season friendlies.
The Championship 1 new boys will also face Co-operative Rugby League Conference National outfit Warrington Wizards in their first home game on Sunday 29 January.
The kick off time for the clash has yet to be confirmed, however, it is planned to take place at the Queensway Stadium, with access to the game restricted to only season ticket holders due to the low capacity of the ground.
Crusaders’ chief executive Jamie Thomas said: “Due to the success of Wrexham Football club in the FA Cup there is a strong possibility that they will be playing Newcastle at the Racecourse the Saturday night before and therefore there would not be time to turn the Racecourse around for a Sunday lunchtime fixture.
“To allow us to plan the game properly, we have announced the fixture to be held at Queensway.
“Due to the size of the venue, the Queensway managers had concerns about allowing us to play there as there was no way of knowing how many fans might turn up and they might not be able cope.
“Therefore rather than cancel the fixture (as the squad need game time) or play completely behind closed doors, the idea was to limit entry to season ticket holders only. All future home pre-season friendlies will be held at the Racecourse.
“However this decision will be reviewed dependent on Wrexham's result on Tuesday night and if we can play at the Racecourse we will - but we wish them all the best against Brighton and hope they get through.”
