I attach for your information the Hattons Solicitors National Conference League backlog programme to complete the regular season rounds.

No doubt there will be a minor change here and there to accommodate Carnegie CC ties or weather related postponements –“keep your fingers crossed” that such amendments are few and do not impact adversely on the run in.

Following careful negotiation and the co-operation of Widnes Vikings RFC Ltd the League has managed to delay by two weeks the date of the Hattons Solicitors National Conference League Grand Final which will now take place at the Stobart Stadium Widnes on Saturday 22 May 2010 kick off 2 30pm.

By doing this there has been some “slack” applied to the final run in of League games which must now be completed by 24 April 2010 to allow a Play Off format in respect of the Top Six clubs to figure as follows:

This winter has seen an unprecedented number of postponements and we hope that the remaining weeks leading to the Grand Final are trouble free.

The League management apologies to everyone for the obvious inconvenience this backlog programme presents for several clubs however with the work of committee member Terry Caddy in conjunction with Widnes Vikings to secure at no additional cost a “stay of execution” this is a welcome development to what for some time now n has been air of despair and frustration at the loss of key fixtures.

The extension gives some welcome if unexpected leeway as the season reaches its climax.
